Most estimates are that 75% of Venezuelans lived in abject poverty. And don’t look to the US for anything but murder, destruction and theft. The US has knowingly destroyed/plundered many an economy/country from Haiti to Iraq and outright leveled to the ground dozens of others. Under just 6 years of US tutelage Ukraine is now the poorest country in Europe and run by the Maidan Nazis after enormous promises by Uncle Slimey. Uncle Slimey wants Venezuela’s oil, gold, rare earths,arable land and to once again have the dollar be the international trade currency etc. There is nothing in America’s plan for the Venezuelan people. Believe me I know these s$$$s here in Washington and their lying ways…

It is well known that British people had invested a lot of money on saltpeter deposits, suddenly Bolivia decides unilateraly to put an end to their contract and raise taxes, going against the signed contracts. But not just British, Chileans also had a lot of investment there, and most of those British were living at Chile at the time, so it became a Chile’s concern, thus taking posesion of those territories untill Bolivia retracted the new taxes. Instead Bolivia (believing that their pact with Peru would give them the upper hand) declares war to Chile, then Chile does the same to Bolivia, followed by Peru declaring war to Chile.
The rest is just, what happens in a war. If you are not up to the consequences, don’t start the problem.
About the Chilean claim of the patagonia, their claim was their side of the Andes, same way Bolivia did claim their Pacific territories at a time they had no sovereignty on those territories.
